Why let your child suffer from Allergies?
If your child experiences any of the following symptoms: running nose, itchy nose, stuffy nose, itchy and/or watery eyes, or frequent sneezing, they may have allergies and will benefit from our allergy testing and immunotherapy services.
Allergen immunotherapy is a form of treatment aimed at decreasing an individual’s sensitivity to substances called allergens. It involves introducing increasing amounts of allergens to a patient over several months.
This service is for children who suffer from seasonal allergies. The child is tested here in our office for the most common allergens. The treatment, called allergy immunotherapy, is then custom-formulated, based on the allergy test results. This treatment helps desensitize patients to many of the triggers that may be causing your child’s symptoms.
Skin testing is the oldest and most reliable form of allergy testing. Skin testing continues to be the “gold standard” for diagnosing allergic disease. Unlike allergy medicines, which act on symptoms or prevent them temporarily, allergy immunotherapy can help alleviate the underlying problem. Studies also show that allergy immunotherapy can help some people from developing new allergies, and reduce the risk of developing asthma in children with nasal allergies.
