COVID-19 Vaccine Update

COVID-19 Vaccine Update

COVID-19 Update

Dear PCC Families
The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the CDC now recommend that children between the ages of 5 and 11 years receive the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric COVID-19 Vaccine.1 The ACIP provides advice and guidance regarding the use of vaccines and related agents to control vaccine-preventable diseases in the United States.2

Our practice has pre-ordered the vaccine, and we expect shipment soon.  IF YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR CHILD VACCINATED IN OUR OFFICE, please email us through our portal at bit.ly/thepccportal. We are compiling a list and will contact you when the vaccines are available. We appreciate your patience as we roll out the PCC’s vaccination drive.

HOW TO SIGN UP UP FOR THE COVID-19 VACCINE

  1. sign up illustrationTo sign up, log in to the PCC portal with your login information (please get in touch with us if you do not yet have access to the portal).
  2. Click the messages button at the top of the page.
  3. Under message type, choose Medical question.
  4. Under provider, choose Office staff.
  5. Under location, choose either BRISTOL or SOUTHINGTON.
  6. Under subject, type COVID-19 VACCINE.
  7. Under message, add PARENT’S NAME; CHILD’S NAME; PHONE NUMBER.

We ask that at this time, please do not call us to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment as we anticipate an initial rush. Instead, please wait for us to contact you after you have emailed us about your interest in getting the vaccine for your child/children.

We understand that there is some controversy as well as confusion about the COVID-19 vaccine. Our practice has carefully researched this issue and will be following the recommendations of the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics, which is also in line with other medical practices and major health centers in the area.

Please note that the vaccines are also available at many sites within the community. Please check out the CT Vaccine Portal for more information. If you do get vaccinated at an external location, please send us your vaccination date so that we can add it to your health records.
