Allergy Season in Children
Spring is here, and with it comes allergy season in children and even adults. Children are especially susceptible to allergies because their immune systems are still developing. Allergies can cause various symptoms, including sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and coughing. Some allergies can lead to more severe conditions, such as asthma.
The most common allergens during spring are pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds. These allergens can be found everywhere, from parks to backyards. Therefore, children who suffer from allergies should avoid spending too much time outside during peak pollen hours (usually early morning and late afternoon) and should take a shower after coming inside.
If your child is experiencing allergy symptoms, allergy testing can help determine the cause of your child’s allergies and recommend appropriate treatment options.
Allergy season can be tough on children, but there are steps you can take to help them feel better. Avoiding allergens and seeking medical treatment when necessary can help your child stay healthy and happy all season.
