Ear piercing is a medical procedure, so there is every reason to make sure that it is done properly. Ear and all body piercings carry the risk of very serious blood diseases. Additionally, in recent years, the number of people suffering from nickel allergy has increased dramatically. Making hygiene and safety of the utmost importance.
When having your child’s ears pierced, it is very important that the equipment being used is modern and safe, and that the person piercing the ears is adequately trained. This is especially important with smaller children. Here at the Pediatric Care Center, our staff is trained to pierce ears of children of all ages and routinely work with very, young children who may not want to cooperate.

Peace of Mind Piercing
We are committed to making sure your ear piercing experience is the best it can be by providing one of the safest, most technologically-advanced ear piercing system available.
3 EASY STEPS using a gentle, hand-pressured instrument and sterile, pre-sealed hypoallergenic piercing earrings.
I. Fully Enclosed Earring Capsules
The unique, fully-enclosed earring capsules guarantee the safest ear piercing possible by preventing the piercing earring and Safety Back™ from being exposed to possible contaminants prior to piercing.
II. Patented Safety Back™
The patented Inverness Safety Back™ is designed to shield the sharp piercing tip and prevent the earring back from being squeezed too tight. This promotes safer healing by allowing proper air flow while the piercing heals.
At the Pediatric Care Center piercing is done starting no younger than 2 months, but ideally at 4, due to the size of the earlobe. Piercings are done either at the child’s well exam or by scheduled appointment. All piercings are based on the discretion of the doctor and the clinical staff.
