PCC in the Press!
BRISTOL – At The Pediatric Care Center, Dr. Susan Adeyinka and her staff work hard to provide exceptional medical care for children in Bristol and the surrounding area.
They pride themselves on providing compassionate, comprehensive services to children from birth through the age of 21.
“As parents ourselves, we know how hectic life can be, so we are committed to making our practice convenient and accessible for your family. We want you to feel confident that when you choose The Pediatric Care Center as your child’s primary care provider, you’ll be working with professionals that are patient, friendly, qualified, experienced and caring,” according to The Pediatric Care Center website.
The practice is proud to be a Patient-Centered Medical Home, a certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance that signifies their commitment to providing both the highest level of pediatric primary care and a wonderful patient care experience.
Earning the designation of a Patient-Centered Medical Home is a rigorous process. Patient-centered means both child and parent will be surrounded by a team of highly-skilled and dedicated healthcare professionals that will work together to meet all of the child’s healthcare needs.
Being a medical home means a child’s healthcare team will always know that child’s medical status and will use technology, like electronic medical records, to communicate and coordinate the child’s care.
“For example, if your child gets a lab test everyone on your child’s team will have access to the results. That way everyone on your child’s team will always be on the same page. That level of familiarity and continuity of care is what makes a PCMH such a valuable tool for your child’s care,” according to the website.
The Pediatric Care Center offers the following specialized services:
- Allergy Clinic: If your child experiences any of the following symptoms: running nose, itchy nose, stuffy nose, itchy and/or watery eyes, or frequent sneezing, they may have allergies and will benefit from allergy testing and immunotherapy services.
- Vision Screening: Spot Vision can help identify problems much earlier than traditional vision screening. It is a vision screening tool that is ideal for infants, pre-school children and school-age children.
- Ear Piercing: It is a medical procedure, so there is every reason to make sure that it is done properly. Ear and all body piercings carry the risk of very serious blood diseases. Additionally, in recent years the number of people suffering from nickel allergy has increased dramatically, making hygiene and safety of the utmost importance.
- Oral Health: Although many parents relegate dental care to dentists, since the earliest introduction to health care is typically the pediatrician, the staff of The Pediatric Care Center works with parents to ensure optimal dental care.
The Pediatric Care Center is located at 1301 Farmington Ave., Bristol. Hours are Monday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday closed.
