Red Nose Day
Whatβs Red Nose Day all about?
Red Nose Day raises awareness and money to help the kids, both at home and around the world. The goal is to end child poverty, and in the last 25 years, over $1 billion has been raised globally. This year’s ‘Red Nose Day’ is on May 25.
The donations/fund’s raised support “projects that ensure kids are safe, healthy, educated, and empowered. Red Nose Day funds programs in all 50 states and in some of the poorest communities in Latin America, Asia and Africa.” In 2016 alone, 2,659,642 children’s lives were impacted, in all 50 states and in various global communities.
Donations can provide1:
- Meals for kids: $1 can provide 11 meals for hungry children through Feeding America food banks.
- Life-saving vaccines: $10 can provide essential immunizations for a child in need.
- A safe place to learn and play: $10 helps provide a safe place for an at-risk child in America to go during the summer and after school.
- Clean water: $30 can provide one person with access to clean water in Uganda.
- Access to education: $50 can provide one yearβs tuition, supplies, and textbooks for a child in a developing country.
- A safe place to sleep: $100 provides food, clothing, shelter, and medical care to help get a child off the street.
